Metallica to release a live album for every 2014 gig

Metallica will release every show they have done in 2014 as a live album.

Metallica were one of the early innovators in the releasing of their shows for download shortly after their completion, having started the practice ten years ago; however, fans have been asking them to go, as they call it, ‘old school’ and put out shows on CD.

The 28-year-old popstar has teamed up with musical legend Tony Bennett to produce the jazz album, which is out tomorrow.

Paul McCartney to release 'New'

Paul McCartney’s latest album, New, will receive a special Collector’s Edition release on October 28 via Hear Music.

New expands to two-CDs and a DVD with unreleased tracks, live performances, music videos and documentaries. The second CD includes two tracks, Hell to Pay and Demons Dance, which were previously unreleased along with Struggle which was only put out in Japan. Continue →


Aretha Franklin to release Divas album

Aretha Franklin has a new album on the way and we may hear with within two week.

According to Roger Friedman, the final mixes are still being put in place but everything is recorded, the album art is done and the set has a tentative title, Aretha Franklin Sings the Songs of the Great Divas.

Included in the set are covers of songs by Adele (Rolling in the Deep, the first single), Gladys Knight and the Pips (Midnight Train to Georgia), Barbra Streisand (People), Etta James (At Last), Alicia Keys (No One), Gloria Gaynor (I Will Survive), Sinead O’Connor (Nothing Compares 2 U) and Whitney Houston/Chaka Khan (I’m Every Woman).

The album is Franklin’s 39th studio set and her first since 2011′s Aretha: A Woman Falling Out of Love.

Rolling Stones to release two heritage gig DVDs

The Rolling Stones are opening their vault for two live shows in their new From the Vault series.

The first, Hampton Coliseum ‘ Live in 1981, will be out on November 3. The release includes the full 2-1/2 hour show which was also broadcast as a pay-per-view event, the first time a music concert had ventured into the new technology. Continue →
