Ora's 'boyfriend threw punches'

Rita Ora’s rumoured boyfriend reportedly punched a man outside an A-list party Wednesday night.

The 23-year-old British singer was accompanied by Ricky Hil at a London bash celebrating photographer Mario Testino’s 60th birthday, according to UK newspaper The Mirror.

Apparently the night ended in revelry of the wrong kind, with Ricky, the son of fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger, getting violent with another partygoer.

Rita Ora to turn on Westfield

Westfield today announces that home-grown, singer-songwriter Rita Ora will switch-on the Christmas Lights on Monday 3rd November, 2014 at Westfield London, W12.

Williams, Thicke face trial over Blurred Lines

Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke’s case against Marvin Gaye’s family will now go to trial.

The musicians have been embroiled in legal proceedings for more than a year after Thicke, Williams and Clifford Harris Jr., better known as T.I., who raps on the track, sought in August 2013 to preemptively protect the song from claims it originated from the Motown legend’s 1977 smash hit Got to Give It Up.

The Gaye family responded with a countersuit, accusing Thicke and Williams of stealing elements for Blurred Lines. Continue →

Rihanna presents amfAR award

Rihanna presented an amfAR award to her ‘inspirational’ friend Tom Ford Wednesday night.

The pop star was given the honour of announcing the celebrity designer favourite at the AIDS research charity’s fifth annual Inspiration Gala in Los Angeles.

Proceeds from the gala benefit amfAR’s numerous initiatives, with tables at the event costing philanthropists as much as $200,000.

Rihanna was tweeting about the honour earlier in the day.

John Carter Cash arrested for airport strip

Producer and songwriter John Carter Cash was arrested on Monday at a Deer Lake, Newfoundland airport after stripping down to his underwear.

According to authorities, they received a report of a man at the airport who was either drunk or having a medical issues. When they responded, they found Cash clothed after airport security had talked him into getting dressed. Continue →

Eric Clapton tribute 'For Jack' Bruce

Eric Clapton has released a new instrumental composition for his late bandmate, Jack Bruce.

Bruce died on Saturday from liver disease and Clapton announced the passing to fans on his Facebook page, saying ‘He was a great musician and composer, and a tremendous inspiration to me.’

The 2014 Barclaycard Mercury Prize Awards Show took place tonight – Wednesday, 29 October. The event was held at the Roundhouse in London and hosted by broadcaster Nick Grimshaw.

Simon Frith, Chair of Judges said, ‘Young Fathers have a unique take on urban British music, brimming with ideas ‘ forceful, unexpected and moving.’

Swift's school donations

Taylor Swift is donating proceeds from her song Welcome to New York to the city’s public schools.

The Shake It Off hitmaker pays homage to her adopted city in the first track of her new album, 1989.

And the star announced on US chat show The View Wednesday she will be donating all proceeds from the song to kids in need, according to TIME magazine.

‘Taylor JUST ANNOUNCED that she’s donating ALL of her proceeds from #WelcomeToNewYork to New York City Public Schools!!! #TaylorOnTheView,’ the outlet reports one Twitter fan wrote.

The announcement follows shortly after Taylor was named Global Welcome Ambassador by New York City’s Tourism Department.
